DCM Shriram Foundation’s Mother’s Day Drive Elevates Rural Maternal Health

Honouring Mothers, Saving Lives

On Mother’s Day, DCM Shriram Foundation launched a poignant digital film to tackle High-Risk Pregnancy (HRP) in underserved rural regions. The story follows Mohan, a dedicated fieldworker, whose Mobile Health Units (MHUs) bring antenatal and postnatal care directly to villages, transforming mothers’ health journeys and preventing avoidable loss.

Khushali Sehat: Healthcare on Wheels

Under the Khushali Sehat program, MHUs staffed with female doctors and nurses traverse hamlets in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. They deliver crucial services, haemoglobin testing, ANC/PNC check-ups, nutritional counseling, and identify HRP cases early, ensuring timely referrals to Community Health Centres.

From Personal Loss to Collective Hope

Mohan’s own mother died in a home birth, fueling his passion for safer deliveries. The film captures him reassuring Rani, eight months pregnant with critically low haemoglobin, that she will get the care he once longed to provide his mother, melding emotion with action.

Partnership and Production

Conceptualized by EFGH Brand Innovations and directed by Titus Upputuru, the spot balances cinematic storytelling with hard-hitting facts. The film is rolling out across social platforms, community screenings, and health forums, sparking essential conversations and driving awareness.

Measuring Impact and Next Steps

Since launch, the campaign has doubled inquiries to local MHUs and inspired repeat health camps. DCM Shriram Foundation plans to expand its fleet, deepen district partnerships, and integrate tele-consultations—ensuring every mother, anywhere, has a shot at safe, dignified care.
